A mobile app created by the state of Indiana will begin bringing county travel status updates in real time to residents and visitors to the Hoosier state.
Once the app has been downloaded onto your phone, you can receive weather updates, and emergency notifications such as flooding, weather warnings, hazardous materials spills, and other events that could affect travel plans.
According to a news release, the Indiana Department of Homeland Security’s travel status map was the most visited page on the state’s web page. Nearly 5-million visitors were logged between December of 2013 and March of 2014.
Users will be able to set alerts for any county of their choosing. Tapping on a county will be able to display up-to-the-minute weather information, and be provided a list of information for contacting emergency management agency offices responsible for distributing information.
The app is now available in the Apple Store and on Google Play for Android.
