The town of Bourbon has a new full-time police officer. Town Clerk Kim Berger swore in 38-year-old Carl Amsen on Friday. He’s a Bourbon native and Triton High School graduate who served five years in the United States Marine Corps.
Amsen started his law enforcement career as a reserve officer for the Bourbon Police Department. He’s a 2014 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and has since worked part-time for the towns of Bourbon, Culver and Argos. Amsen will begin his full-time job with the Bourbon Police Department on Monday.
He is married and has four children.
