The Marshall County DUI Task Force will be increasing patrols on Saturday to limit the presence of drunk driving.
Those checkpoints will be set up during the evening hours in German Township in Marshall County where Bremen is located. The task force is made up of cooperating law enforcement agencies that work to decrease impaired driving.
Drunk driving is one of the nation’s most frequently committed crimes, according to a news release. In Indiana in 2014, there were more than 4,500 alcohol-related collisions. 94 of which were fatalities.
The Marshall County DUI Task Force recommends designating a driver, calling a taxi, or calling a friend to pick you up should you find yourself consuming one too many.
