An arrest has been made following a police pursuit of a moped driver in late June.
Plymouth Police say the incident occurred the night of June 27th when officers attempted to stop a moped for a traffic violation. The stop was conducted in the area of Michigan Street near U.S. 30.
The moped allegedly kept traveling, circling parking lots, and eventually exiting the roadway into a cornfield. The vehicle was found abandoned with the driver escaping police following a multi-hour search of the area.
Further investigation revealed the moped was reported stolen on May 28th. Plymouth Police Detective Leo Mangus continued the investigation for several weeks until an arrest warrant was issued for 20-year-old Josiah Abair. He was arrested on Thursday on charges of Resisting Law Enforcement and Vehicle Theft.
Abair was booked into the Marshall County Jail on $3-thousand bond.
