Funeral services and preserving the ashes in a urn have been set for the former Miss Blueberry killed in a single-vehicle crash on an Alabama interstate. 21-year-old Breanna Lemler was interning at Bunge North America in Decatur, Ala. prior to starting her senior year at Purdue. She was traveling westbound on I-565 Sunday morning when her car left the highway, went down an embankment and struck a tree.
Lemler was active in 4-H and in sports at Triton High School, where she played basketball and volleyball and ran track. Some of her records in the latter still stand. Lemler was crowned both Fall and Winter Homecoming Queen. She was also the 2013 Triton Jr. Miss winner and the 2014 Miss Blueberry and was training for her first mini marathon at the time of her death.
Breanna Lemler’s funeral will take place Friday, July 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Plymouth Wesleyan Church, with visitation there Thursday, July 14 from 3 until 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Marshall County Community Foundation, where a scholarship in her honor will be established.
