A pair of teenagers face auto theft charges after their early morning joyride came to an abrupt halt at the hands of the Marshall County Police. Patrol officers stopped a silver 1990 Ford in the area of Michigan and Ewing Streets just before 5 a.m. Sunday.
The car was being driven by a 14-year-old, according to the incident report. A 15-year-old was also in the car. Officers say the youngsters had taken it from one of the parents without permission, and neither had a driver’s license.
They have charges pending through juvenile probation and were taken to an address in Plymouth to be released to parents.
Through the investigation, officers arrested 36-year-old Jacob Belcher of South Bend on a Marshall County failure to appear warrant.
