Things are returning to normal in Bremen after a gas leak caused widespread evacuations in the community. An INDOT contractor struck a gas line near Woodie’s Supermarket in on Bowen Avenue yesterday afternoon, according to officials with the Bremen Police Department and Marshall County Emergency Management Agency. That forced the evacuation of the area within a four-block radius of the store. The Bremen Town Hall was used as an emergency shelter for displaced residents.
The evacuation order was lifted around 6 p.m. Thursday, according to WNDU-TV. No injuries were reported.
