Financial literacy is the goal of Secretary of State Connie Lawson’s Summer Reading program.
The program was launched late last week as part of the Secretary of State’s Indiana MoneyWise program. It attempts to teach Hoosiers the importance of financial literacy and a few money management skills.
Lawson says that with the Summer Reading Program, Indiana residents are never too young to learn how money affects them.
As part of the Summer Reading Program, students are being asked to read a few assigned books and complete an activity related to each topic. Students will then submit their reading list and receive a piggy bank to help them on their way to financial literacy.
