A Plymouth man believed to have been living under an assumed name for at least the past four years now faces numerous felony offenses in Marshall and St. Joseph Counties. A woman told Plymouth Police Monday morning she had been living with a man she knew as Michael A. Davis for the past four years and just learned his real name is Michael Landrum. She also told officers he had counterfeit identification documents at her residence.
A warrants check revealed Michael Landrum was wanted in St. Joseph County for fraud and theft.
Plymouth Police found Landrum that afternoon, according to the incident report. He initially told them he was Michael Davis, and had medication prescribed to Michael Davis in his possession. He later confessed to a Plymouth Police Detective that he is 48-year-old Michael Landrum and said he had used the name Michael Davis to get the prescription medication.
Officers recovered numerous counterfeit and forged documents during their investigation, including a counterfeit check. Landrum faces charges of false informing, prescription fraud, forgery and counterfeiting in Marshall County in addition to the prior charges filed in St. Joseph County.
