Upgrades continue at some of the Plymouth Community School Corporation’s facilities. Superintendent Dan Tyree told the school board Tuesday that all the underground work for the football stadium’s new grandstand, concession stand, and restrooms is complete.
Concrete is now being poured for the bleachers. Steel has been delivered and will start going up in the next week.
However, water lines continue to be discovered in inconvenient places. This time, construction crews were digging the foundation for the addition to the administration building, when they ran into a water line they didn’t know was there.
Tyree told the school board that line will have to be replaced before the foundation can be completed. He said that since it feeds the building’s fire suppression system, the corporation could get into trouble with its insurance provider, if the addition were to be built on top of the water line and the system didn’t work during a fire.
