A few local students are getting help paying for college, thanks to Burger King restaurants. Quality Dining, which owns several Burger Kings, has released the names of Burger King scholarship recipients in the local area.
Included on that list is Plymouth High School student Leticia Torres, who will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Burger King McLamore Foundation. Meanwhile, Daulton Materna of Culver is getting a $1,000 Burger King employee scholarship.
The Burger King McLamore Foundation scholarship program aims to recognize students who achieve high academic standards, while also being involved in co-curricular activities or community service.
