The 21st Leadership Marshall County class was recognized during a graduation ceremony last week in Culver. LMC Chair Valerie Weis said in a statement that the nine-month class aims to bring together community leaders who otherwise may never have interacted, so they can come up with new ways to better Marshall County.
As part of that effort, class members learn about various programs and initiatives taking place. They also take part in interactive assignments and group projects designed to help them investigate long-term goals and strategies for the county. The project receiving top honors this year was the Young Professionals Group, created by Steve Boyer, Denise Burnham, and Angie Fulton. They won a $500 cash award to support their ongoing efforts.
This year’s Leadership Marshall County Class consisted of 14 members. Since the program started in 1995, a total of 332 people have taken part.
Registration for next year’s class begins soon. For more information, contact the Marshall County Community Foundation at 574-935-5159 or LMCinfo@marshallcountycf.org.
