A South Bend man was flown from Marshall County to Memorial Hospital of South Bend on Saturday after his ultralight aircraft got stuck in a tree and he fell about 60 feet.
Michael Wood was piloting the 2002 Buckeye Dream Machine in the area of 16166 18B Road and struck the top of the trees. Investigators from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department aren’t sure how Wood became unbuckled and fell out of the tree. He was conscious when help arrived. The extent of his injuries is not known.
