An Etna Green man faces numerous charges after leading Marshall County Police on a high-speed chase through two counties last night. The incident started around 8 p.m. when an officer tried to pull a blue Ford Focus over for expired plates in the area of 18B Road and State Road 331. The driver, identified as 24-year-old William Garrett Schultz, refused to stop and took off, according to the incident report.

The pursuit went from Tippecanoe to Rochester, where the driver wrecked at the intersection of U.S. 31 and Wabash Ave. before taking off on foot. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Rochester Police Department and Indiana State Police helped to track him down.

A search of the car reportedly turned up marijuana. Schultz was arrested and taken for a chemical test, which he failed. He faces charges of possession of marijuana under 30 grams, resisting law enforcement by means of a vehicle and operating while intoxicated.
