Northern Indiana Red Cross Hopes for More Volunteers

Red CrossThis week, honor your volunteers. Two weeks from now, try to recruit more.

The Northern Indiana Chapter of the American Red Cross says they are hosting an event on April 26th that hopes to increase the number of individuals in the community promoting the work of the organization. The Red Cross provides support to disaster victims, and supplies a significant percentage to the nation’s blood banks.

The goal of the recruitment event is to help those interested to get involved in the work the Red Cross is already performing.

That gathering, however, is not taking place before the American Red Cross recognizes those already providing their time and talents.

This week is National Volunteer week across the country. According to a press release, 90-percent of the organization’s workforce is made-up of volunteers.

The recruitment event will take place at the Plymouth Public Library on Center Street from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.
