Parents of prospective kindergarten students are invited to the Plymouth Community School Corporation’s Kindergarten Roundup. It will take place Tuesday, March 22 from 1:30 until 2:30 and 6 until 7 p.m. at each of the four elementary schools.
Families only need to attend one session. During the hour-long meeting, parents will meet with administrators and fill out registration forms while children will meet with teachers for kindergarten screening.
Children need to turn five on or before Aug. 1, 2016 in order to be eligible to start kindergarten in the fall. Parents need to bring their child’s original birth certificate and shot records so the school can make copies. Interpreters will be available for Spanish-speaking families.
Parents of children who live within the PCSC boundaries should attend their specific elementary school district’s roundup. Parents interested in having their children attend Washington Discovery Academy need to attend kindergarten roundup there. Call any of the elementary schools or the transportation department at 574-936-3169 if you aren’t sure which schools boundary you live within.
Families who live outside the PCSC boundaries may attend kindergarten roundup at any of the corporation’s four elementary schools. Officials note children may be placed at another Plymouth elementary school to balance class sizes.
