A pair of Marshall County men face numerous criminal charges stemming from the alleged illegal possession and sale of venison.
Indiana Conservation Officers arrested 71-year-old Willard “Doug” Corey and 45-year-old William “Bill” Strong of Argos Wednesday following an investigation.
It started after they got a tip about Corey’s Deer Processing, located south of Plymouth. Willard Corey owns the business, and his son-in-law, William Strong works there.
Corey was arrested on two felony counts of illegal sale of wildlife and two misdemeanor counts of illegal possession of deer. Strong faces two felony conspiracy counts and two misdemeanor illegal possession of deer charges.
Conservation officers donated between 300 and 400 pounds of illegal processed venison to local food banks. They remind everyone the sale of wildlife is regulated by law. Anyone with information about the illegal sale of wildlife or any other wildlife crime is encouraged to call 1-800-TIP-IDNR.
