The lack of a license plate resulted in a trip to jail for a Mentone woman following a Thursday night traffic stop by a Marshall County Police Officer. He stopped a car driven by 21-year-old Sydney N. Livengood on northbound Michigan Road near U.S. 6 around 8:30 p.m., according to the incident report.

K-9 Arras alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, and officers reportedly recovered a substance believed to be heroin from Livengood. She was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for a chemical test prior to being booked into the Marshall County Jail. Livengood faces charges of operating while intoxicated, controlled substance and possession of heroin.
