Marshall County’s Prosecutor says he will be seeking the maximum sentence following a conviction this week of a former Plymouth business’ CEO.
Investigations started following the closure of Stone Creek Homes in Plymouth in May of 2012. According to information provided by the prosecutor’s office, the company was shuttered without warning to customers or employees.
The company’s CEO David Ferguson is accused of Corrupt Business Influence, Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, and Conspiracy by allegedly developing a scheme to take money from customers and failing to pay employees.
Ferguson’s whereabouts were unknown for some time while the investigation was ongoing.
Prosecutor Nelson Chipman says the customers lost just under a quarter of a million dollars with employee’s health insurance premiums stolen. Their paychecks were also not delivered.
A grand jury indicted Ferguson on the charges with a conviction on the counts being handed down by a jury this week on 13 of 14 counts.
