The individual that authorities believe is responsible for robberies at the Dollar General locations in Plymouth and North Judson may have struck again in Cedar Lake.
According to detectives with the Cedar Lake Police Department, a robbery occurred in the community at a Walgreen’s on Monday afternoon. The store is located in the area of U.S. 41 and W. 133rd Avenue in Cedar Lake. According to information provided by the Cedar Lake Police Department, the suspect allegedly implied to the store clerk that he possessed a firearm, demanding money from the register.
The incident is strikingly similar to incidents reported in recent days in both Plymouth and North Judson.
Both communities saw their Dollar General stores robbed by what witnesses describe as a middle-aged man wearing a white baseball cap, black hooded sweatshirt, and jeans. Cedar Lake Police have confirmed a similar description for the suspect in the Walgreen’s robbery incident.
Cedar Lake Detective Carl Brittingham says they are now coordinating an investigation with Plymouth and North Judson Police on the matter. Brittingham says a similar robbery incident also occurred in Crown Point on March 7th.
