Marshall County Special Prosecutor Nelson Chipman showed a Youtube video during his Monday press conference explaining multiple felony counts against Kevin Bronson that can only be described as telling his back story.
Bronson is allegedly intertwined with Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine in a bribery and intimidation case.
The video dates from 2013 during a karate gathering and expo. It features the host of a radio show called “Dr. Walls and Friends.” During the interview, Bronson discusses his experience laundering money through a former business of his for the mob.
“They sent me to the second most violent prison in the country’s history because I would not tell,” says Bronson. “You cannot tell on mafia bosses and survive, nor was it in my character to do that. And because of that, they sent me to an extremely terrible place.”
In the video, Bronson appears to explain his stints in prison and alleged involvement with gang activity. Apart from any responsibility for the violence he describes, Bronson said he grew tired of his leadership role at the state and national level in the gang. He cites his faith as helping him to break away from the gang.
Drug addictions plagued Bronson which may have led to his arrest in 2015 on cocaine-related charges. During his time in Kosciusko County jail, he is alleged to have offered money to Sheriff Rovenstine in exchange for privileges such as unrecorded telephone calls and visitations.
Bronson is accused of threatening an attorney to help him secure a movie deal pro bono, even addressing the idea during the interview from 2013.
“They’re in the process, they have three possible movies, one for sure movie, a cable series and two possible book projects based on the details and facts of my life,” says Bronson.
Hearing dates have not been set for Bronson or Sheriff Rovenstine at this time.
Questions about the video were not addressed by Chipman following his statements on the case on Monday.
