INDOT Cautions Motorists Not to Travel

snow-plowRoads across northern Indiana are slick, slushy and quickly filling with blowing snow, according to INDOT officials. They advise moderate to heavy drifting is occurring in rural areas due to gusty winds. Lake effect snow is also falling in Porter, LaPorte and St. Joseph Counties. This is leading to reduced visibilities and potential white out conditions.

Motorists are urged to stay off the roads. Blowing snow will make roads hard to see at times, and slick conditions are expected to persist throughout the day. The INDOT Northwest District will maintain a full call out of salt/plow crews for the next 24 hours until roads are clear.
