Day two of festivities will take place in Culver today with the weather almost too fitting for the occasion.
Winterfest kicked-off yesterday with ice-sculptures and a few other events taking place around the community. Winterfest is hosted by the Chamber of Commerce in Culver to create opportunities for residents and attract tourists during what is otherwise unfavorable outdoor weather.
Today’s events include ice skating, the Culver Beard Club’s polar plunge, and ice fishing lessons on Lake Maxinkuckee. The weekend will wrap up with a chili competition and ice fishing tournament weigh-in during the afternoon on Sunday.
Culver’s local shopping and restaurants typically see a bit of a boost during the weekend’s events.
