Add another Marshall County Commissioners seat to the list of growing competitive races.
Things got a bit more interesting, Monday after the Marshall County Clerk’s office says Rex Crump has filed to run for the District 2 seat on the County Commissioners as a Democrat. He will be challenging Mike Delp in November, assuming no other candidates file for the seat.
Crump most recently ran for Mayor of Plymouth, but was defeated in the municipal general elections by Incumbent Mayor Mark Senter in 2015. The District 2 seat is currently held by Deb Griewank: her term on the Board of Commissioners ends at the end of this year.
No other candidates have filed between Monday and late last week. The deadline to file paperwork to appear on the ballot is February 5th.
