The Marshall County Election Board will be presenting a plan that they hope can be used in future elections.
For weeks, the committee has been discussing the implementation of vote centers in Marshall County. The idea is to limit the number of polling sites, but allow voters to use any of them to cast the proper ballot on Election Day.
Marshall County has already purchased e-poll books with the intent that they would move forward with the project. The state Election Board requires 60 days prior to Election Day to finalize a plan. If Marshall County is unable to finalize their plan for May’s primary elections, the November General Election would be next in line.
This evening, a draft version of their vote center plan will be presented. The LaPaz fire department has already been selected as a vote center site. The others remain to be seen.
Apart from selecting the sites, having a plan of operation and back up plans in the case of a power loss have also been cited as crucial.
The public meeting will take place at the Marshall County Building at 6:00 p.m.
