The Plymouth Board of Works will be opening proposals tonight from construction contractors for its Wastewater Treatment Plant improvement project. The city has decided to use a Guaranteed Savings Contract for the project, which allows the city to choose a contractor based on qualifications, rather than who puts in the lowest bid.
Once the proposals are opened, a committee made up of utility superintendent Donnie Davidson along with Board of Works members Mike Delp and Don Ecker Jr. will review the contractors’ qualifications and make a recommendation to the full board on February 8. Also during tonight’s meeting, city engineer Rick Gaul will present a preliminary list of street and sidewalk projects for the year.
Tonight’s Plymouth Board of Works meeting starts at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Common Council meeting at 6:30. During its meeting, the Common Council will decide whether to formally approve an update to the city’s code of ordinances to reflect the change to a seven-member council. The council was increased from five members after the city’s population surpassed 10,000.
