The bank that helped finance the construction of the first Ancilla College residence hall is giving back to the school. 1st Source Bank has donated $65,000 to the school as an early-bird gift during the quiet phase of Ancilla’s upcoming comprehensive campaign. The funds will benefit the new student life center and residence hall.
1st Source Regional President Connie Lemler said in a statement, “At 1stSource, we are enthusiastic about Ancilla’s strategic growth initiative and their plans to improve the student experience,” said Lemler. “We are pleased to contribute early to the campaign to demonstrate our support for the project and our commitment to being a part of the Ancilla community.”
1st Source President Jim Seitz and Lemler presented the check to Ancilla College President Ken Zirkle, CFO Mike Brown and Vice President of Development Todd Zeltwanger.
Zirkle credits the financing from 1st Source with helping to turn Ancilla around. He says the addition of residence halls and a dining facility have pulled in students from outside the immediate area. Since the first residence hall opened in August, Zirkle says the school has seen 21 percent enrollment growth.
