Investigators believe a stray bullet that went through the outermost wall of a Timber Lane residence Monday evening was fired by accident.
Marshall County Police responded to a home in the 11000 block of Timber Lane just after 7 p.m. The homeowner advised a bullet struck the house, went through the outermost wall and came to rest on the living room floor. No injuries were reported.
Investigators say the bullet was fired from an unknown location to the east of the residence and suspect it was due to the careless handling of a firearm. Authorities remind all residents to practice safe and responsible gun ownership and handling. When practicing, make sure you are shooting into a proper back stop, and never fire up into the air. Bullets can still be lethal when they land.
