A pair of South Bend men accused of stealing several items from the Plymouth Lowe’s store on Saturday face theft charges in Marshall County.
Store personnel called the sheriff’s department after two men reportedly left without paying for power tools. They told the officers the men were driving a white SUV.
Officers found the vehicle near the U.S. 31 and 6th Road overpass, according to a news release. They say one person fled on foot and was not located. However, officers did arrest 25-year-old Dedrick M. Cookbey and 26-year-old Lineson Fitzgerald Powell, Jr., for theft. Formal charges against both men are pending. Officers found the alleged stolen items in the vehicle, according to the report.
