Investigators from the Marshall County Police Department are searching for a man who reportedly led a patrol officer on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle early Sunday morning.
The officer spotted the car traveling west on U.S. 30 just after 3 a.m., according to a news release. The officer caught up to the vehicle and tried to stop the driver near King Road and U.S. 30. That’s when the driver reportedly fled. He cut through the intersection of Lincoln Highway and King Road, crossed over the railroad tracks and suddenly stopped on King Road south of 10th Road.
The driver got out of the car, fled behind several nearby homes and has yet to be located. The only description provided is of someone about five-feet, 8-inches tall with a medium build who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
Officers then learned the car had been stolen from a residence in Bremen just before the pursuit. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Nicholas Laffoon of the Marshall County Police Department at 574-936-3187.
