The Indiana Department of Transportation is suspending construction and maintenance work to make Christmas travel safer and a little easier, but some restrictions will remain where long-term projects are taking place.
In Porter County, the left lane of eastbound Interstate 94 will remain closed between Mile 21 and State Road 49. Farther south, traffic restrictions will also remain on I-65 near Greenwood and Henryville for ongoing bridge construction.
However, INDOT says traffic should move along more easily in certain areas, thanks to some highway projects completed earlier this month. These include a 27 additional miles of I-69 between NSA Crane and Bloomington and the replacement of stoplights along U.S. 31 though Carmel and Westfield with new exit ramps.
