Grant Applications Now Available for Homegrown Fuels Program

gas-pump-2Grant applications are now being accepted to help gas stations make higher blends of ethanol fuel more widely available.

The Indiana Office of Energy Development is awarding more than $1.3 million in grant funding through its Hoosier Homegrown Fuels Blender Pump Program. The goal is to install 110 blender pumps in areas of the state where blends of E15 to E85 are currently limited or not available.

The program is a partnership involving the Office of Energy Development, the Indiana Corn Marketing Council, the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, Greater Indiana Clean Cities, and South Shore Clean Cities. It’s being funded with money from the Corn Marketing Council as well as the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Services Agency.

Retail stations selling fuel to the public are eligible to apply for the grant. Funds are available for a minimum of two and a maximum of five dispensers per pump location. Applications are being accepted until January 8.
