A local football coach faces criminal charges following an alleged Wednesday night domestic disturbance.
Bremen High School head football coach Bob Holmes is accused of throwing his girlfriend onto the bathroom floor multiple times. Her 17-year-old son reportedly knocked Holmes down and called police, according to our reporting partners at WNDU-TV.
Bremen Schools Superintendent Dr. James White said in a statement, “Being an educational institution, we fully appreciate the seriousness of domestic issues and empathize with those who have experienced such situations. Once the full facts of the situation are made available to us, the appropriate actions will be taken based upon the details of this specific situation. Until then, we must exercise restraint as we do not wish to usurp the legal process and their fact finding responsibilities.”
Holmes has coached six seasons at Bremen. During that time the Lions won five sectional titles and one regional championship. He previously coached at South Central and Michigan City.
