Downtown Plymouth Businesses Now Able to Access Micro-Loans

news-2Businesses in Plymouth’s downtown may have an opportunity to access micro-loans through a new economic development program.

The Plymouth Industrial Development Corporation, or PIDCO, says it recognizes the importance of creating a vibrant downtown. By joining resources with several city and economic development organizations, a grant was received from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Capitalizing the grant left the program with about $95-thousand to work with. Now an outline of the areas in the downtown has been developed. Projects allowed under the micro-loan program include: façade work, modernization, working capital, and pollution control, among others.

PIDCO has been working for the past 40 years to grow industrial development in the Plymouth area. They say industrial growth is complemented by a downtown that promotes positive activity.

Loans became available on December 1st.
