Bremen Delays Police Chief Appointment Following Legal Error

Bremen Police DepartmentThe Town of Bremen has pushed back a decision on the appointment of a new police chief once again.

The Town Council anticipated making the hire official during their meeting, Monday night. The position opened after the election of Matt Hassel as Sheriff of Marshall County.

A decision was postpone by one week after an insufficient number of Town Council members were present in November. The appointment was then supposed to take place on Monday of this week.

That decision was postpone once again after the Town of Bremen’s legal counsel suggested some incorrect wording was present in the Town’s initial job posting. The decision to appoint a permanent police chief has now been extended until Thursday.

The Town of Bremen anticipates no further delays at this time.
