A couple of Marshall County charitable organizations are readying for one of the post-Thanksgiving holiday trends.
The Marshall County Community Foundation and the United Way are both taking part in Giving Tuesday. It takes place today, but more specifically, the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. Giving Tuesday is a way to keep philanthropic endeavors on your radar during strong shopping activity.
It joins Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday as major holiday participation. The day dedicated to charitable fundraising is now in its fourth year.
As part of the celebration, the United Way and the Marshall County Community Foundation say they have made it a bit easier for those interested to donate. A 1-to-1 match is also available through the Lilly Endowment for donations made to the Marshall County Community Foundation’s Community Fund. There are over 320 other funds available for donation.
The United Way says they are accepting donations online to support their 24 member agencies.
Giving Tuesday is taking place around the globe to support charitable causes.
