With snow moving into the area this weekend, state and local officials are urging drivers to be prepared before heading out onto the roads. Today wraps up Winter Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana, and officials say it’s time to re-learn some winter driving skills and practices.
These include allowing more time to get where you’re going, leaving more stopping distance when driving on slushy or icy roads, and not following the car in front of you too closely.
They also say to make sure your windshield wipers and cleaning system are in good working order, and that tires have sufficient tread depth. You should also use your headlights when visibility is low and keep emergency supplies in your car.
