The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is encouraging Hoosiers to be aware of their surroundings with its new public service campaign, “Ready: Whenever. Wherever.” They say it’s a reminder to be on the lookout for potential acts of violence and to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
Officials are encouraging residents to be prepared, since dangerous events can occur anywhere at any time, with little or no warning. They say with discussion, preparation, and practice, Hoosiers can continue to take part in events and activities without fear.
Some steps you can take to be prepared include figuring out the location of emergency exits when entering a building and planning defensive actions ahead of time for you and your family.
