A newly-elected member of the Bremen Town Council has taken his seat a couple months early. Retired Bremen Police detective Bill Daily was chosen by the Marshall County Republican Party earlier this month to finish the term of Heath Thornton.
Marshall County Republican Party Chair Dave Holmes says the selection of Daily was pretty much a foregone conclusion.
“He ran in the primary for the Bremen Town Council,” says Holmes. “He was elected in the fall, so when Thornton resigned, it seemed logical. He was the only one that filed for the last two months of Thornton’s term, so everybody just thought it’s appropriate to elect him to serve out the last two months, since he’s going to be there for the next four years.”
Thornton resigned from the town council in order to replace Matt Hassel on the Marshall County Council.
