The Town of Bremen has postponed a decision on the hiring of a new Police Chief.
Finding a replacement for former Police Chief Matt Hassel has taken the Town weeks following his election as Sheriff of Marshall County. In the interim, Assistant Police Chief Keith Fraine has been serving in the role.
According to Bremen Town Council President Mike Leman, the meeting held Monday night did not see any discussion on the appointment of a new police chief. He says absences from the Town Council meeting required them to postpone any further consideration.
The committee managing the search process has recommended Sergeant Brad Kile as the permanent replacement to take over as Bremen Police Chief. The Town Council was anticipated to take the recommendation under advisement, Monday night.
According to Town Manager Trend Weldy, the Town Council may also make a decision to finalize the recommendation and make the appointment.
The next Bremen Town Council meeting will take place Monday, November 30th.
