Venison Exchange Program Returns

Hunters once again have the opportunity to share their deer meet with the public. GiveIN Game, a venison donation program run by the DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife, is back for its fifth year.

It’s illegal to sell, barter, or trade for venison, but hunters can arrange to give it to someone else. GiveIN Game aims to help them do that. Hunters willing to donate venison and people who would like to receive it can sign up online at www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/7240.htm. There, people can connect and set up a free exchange on their own schedule. They can donate or request any amount of venison in any condition.

There were 715 people taking part in the program last year, with more than six times as many people asking for venison as there were offering it. Those who have previously taken part in GiveIN Game need to re-register to keep participating.
