Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

A Bloomington man faces drug charges in Marshall County following a Sunday traffic stop. A Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled a car driven by 20-year-old Radamez Cruz Rodriguez over around 10 p.m. on U.S. 31 at 9A Road. The officer immediately smelled a strong odor of raw marijuana coming from the car, according to the arrest report. A search turned up a large amount of currency in small bills, 98 grams of marijuana, a prescription controlled substance and various drug paraphernalia items associated with drug use and dealing.

Ramirez was booked into the Marshall County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of and dealing in more than 30 grams of marijuana.
