Plymouth officials yesterday cut the ribbon to dedicate the new gateway sign at the north entrance to the city. It sits just to the south of the roundabout on Michigan Road at Veterans Parkway.
Prior to cutting the ribbon Mayor Mark Senter recalled the civic pride he felt when River Park Square was completed. He says it was exactly what he expected and more.
“The kids were playing in the fountain, the correct fountain. The market was just flourishing with colors, and so many things going on. I had tears in my eyes. The first time I drove by this about three weeks ago, I felt the same thing,” Senter said.
Last year a committee decided on the slogan “Welcome to Plymouth, where community and possibilities connect.”
