A Plymouth man faces a theft of a handgun charge after the weapon was recovered in South Bend following a shooting. Plymouth Police say the gun was stolen from a home in the 1600 block of North Michigan Street on Sept. 8th.
On Sept. 11th, the South Bend Police Department received two reports of shots fired and arrested two suspects said to be riding a stolen moped following a pursuit. The South Bend officers recovered the stolen gun, which had been listed in the federal National Crime Information Center database. Further investigation by Plymouth Police found that 19-year-old Cody Lindenmeyer of Plymouth had sold the gun to one of the suspects in the South Bend shooting. He was arrested on a Marshall County theft warrant on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Lindenmeyer’s bond is set at $3,000.
