The Culver Town Council will be taking their 2016 budget to a first reading tonight.
Town Council members intend to hold a public hearing on the document that will determine expenditures going into 2016. The document will also go to a first reading.
An ordinance detailing false fire alarms will also head to second and third reading. The ordinance was developed after fire department officials complained of responding to multiple calls at the same location. Often the alarms would turn out to be nothing of consequence.
In the ordinance language, fines will be applied if a business or home makes a certain number of phone calls. Fines would increase for each subsequent phone call.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:30 EDT at Culver Town Hall.
