A longtime Ancilla College Board of Trustees member and a Plymouth businessman who graduated from the school nearly 40 years ago will be honored during the school’s third annual Changing Lives Scholarship Dinner. It will take place Friday, Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. EST at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth.
The Ancilla Award is one of the school’s highest honors. It will be presented to Marshall County native John Chandler, who serves as vice-president of Saint Ignatius College Prep in Chicago. Chandler was a member of the Ancilla College Board of Trustees from 2003-2013 and served as board chairman from 2007-2013.
Randall Danielson, class of 1977, will receive the Sister Mary Dolores Outstanding Alumni Award. He owns Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home in Plymouth and has served on the Ancilla College Board of Trustees since 2006.
A variety of live and silent auction items will also be offered during the evening. Funds raised from this event will help provide need-based grants and scholarships to help students attend Ancilla College. During the past school year, 92-percent of the school’s students received some sort of financial assistance in the form of grants, scholarships or awards. The college also spent more than $1 million of its own resources to help students with their tuition and other costs of education. Last year’s event raised nearly $33,000 to help Ancilla students
