A complete closure of State Road 23 is prompting warnings by the Indiana Department of Transportation.
The closure will take place at the railroad tracks between U.S. 6 and Tyler Road in Walkerton. According to INDOT, construction crews will be replacing the bridge deck over Pine Creek. That’s a repair that takes a bit of time with work not expected to be completed until mid-November.
Because state enforced detours must be along state roads only, drivers traveling North on State Road 23 can take U.S. 6 West, North on State Road 104, and East of State Road 4 before meeting up again with State Road 23.
Drivers traveling southbound will take the route backwards.
Updates on road conditions can be spotted on the Indiana Department of Transportation website.
