Plymouth Woman Faces Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery Charges

A Plymouth woman faces attempted murder and aggravated battery charges stemming from an incident yesterday at a home in the 1000 block of Ed Cook Boulevard. Officers were dispatched to a home there around 3:30 p.m. When they arrived, 65-year-old Mary Nethercutt told them 26-year-old Amanda Nethercutt tried to drown a child. Mary had several injuries to her face, and the child’s face was blue, according to a news release from the Plymouth Police Department. Officers found Amanda at a house next door with a knife in her hand. She did not respond to an officer’s orders to drop the knife and was tased. She was arrested and taken to the hospital for an evaluation. She was later taken to the Bowen Center.
