The Plymouth City Council will consider an amendment to the downtown parking ordinance when they meet this evening. Businessman John O’Dell complained about parking enforcement at the city’s July 27th meeting.
City officials promised then to look into the matter. Currently a first offense parking ticket is $2, and fines go up for subsequent offenses. At that meeting city officials questioned why the ticket aren’t enough of an incentive for people to park correctly and obey posted restrictions.
The council will also consider an additional appropriations resolution as well as an amendment to line the budget up with the city’s new accounting software.
The council meets at 6:30 p.m. or immediately following the board of works and safety. Their session starts at 6. Agenda items include opening bids for street and sidewalk repairs and a report from the city engineer about work in the right of way for Metronet at 112 S. Center St.
