Marshall County is one of 26 counties to receive a grant through the Lake and River Enhancement (LARE) program in the DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife. Statewide nearly $1.3 million was awarded to care for Indiana’s water bodies.
Funds come from an annual registration fee paid by boat owners. The $50,000 local grant will be used for design/build of a Yellow River project. Local sponsors have to commit to a share of the project funding as well.
